Welcome to Our School - Greetings!

First Day of Classes - Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Superintendent's Message

On June 28th we bid farewell to the Class of 2008.  While we will miss their presence next fall, we wish them the very best as they venture off beyond the school and in most cases our community.  Congratulations to all of our graduates and to their families.

During the summer months our academic programs take a recess.  The world becomes the classroom for our students.  All students are encouraged to learn history and geography from any travel experience or conservation with their extended family or neighbors.  Reading is an excellent activity to keep your mind stimulated and open to new ideas.  Outdoor activities take advantage of this beautiful area in which we live.  Informal learning is a wonderful benefit of a summer vacation.

The Town of Keene is celebrating its Bicentennial this year.  Two hundred years of history will be examined and remembered through a variety of summer events.  Settlers Days are scheduled for July 26th & 27th.  The school has been a key player in the rich heritage of the Town of Keene.  We hope to contribute even more well into the future.  Participate in and enjoy the festivities.

While students are away for July and August, the school prepares for their return in September.  The building is used for community events and then cleaned in preparation for the fresh start of classes. Teachers work to prepare changes to their curriculum and programs.  Planning is in full gear throughout the summer at school.

I look forward to the fresh start of a new year with new students and the return of familiar faces.

Have a safe and happy summer.
